City Slickers Starter Kit

I found out about Bull Smoke from several e-cig forums. A lot of people spoke highly of their flavors so, natural, I felt compelled to give them a try. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, so I strolled around their site, checked over the kits and made a purchase. The site can be found here, Bull Smoke. I purchased the City Slicker kit for $59.00.

Presentation

I like the site. The bull with the smoke coming out of it’s nostrils was a nice touch. They kept the design simple. The same is true with their starter kit. It’s a different approach for sure. It’s a one level cardboard box with all of the flavors in its own assign foam-cut-out space. It is just a disposable container, but the effort is noted.

Delivery

Since they are in Florida, I got them super fast. But, they only offer USPS Priority Mail and FedEx Overnight. Those are extra options, but each only comes in one flavor. A few more options for USPS and FedEx please.

Quality

The quality of the batteries and cartomizers are really high. The batteries thread nicely into the cartomizers and provide even consistent use throughout. The USB charger works fine and there were no flaws in design in any of the components that came with the kit. Very nice all around.

Battery

The batteries are KR808D-1 threaded. The batteries only come in white for the kit. They are 3.6 volt, 180 mAh batteries. The batteries are nothing fancy, but in my time using them they work just fine. They have a slow heat build-up process, so slow, long draws give the best results. I found them very useful in day to day vaping. Not the best I’ve ever had, but very nice none-the-less.

Flavor

I can say honestly, the flavors are the best part of this kit. They provide 10 cartomizers per kit, which is great, and the two kits they have each come with different flavors. I choose City Slicker because of the coffee flavor. Naturally, I compare all coffee flavors to my favorite e-cig flavor ever from V2Cigs and menthol to EverSmokes menthol. Neither really comes close to either of my favorites, but I did find two other happy nuggets of gold… Tobacco and ranger. These two are just delicious. I was so sad to see them go, I plan on ordering more of them very soon. The flavors are not flashy, extravagant or game changers, but they are really good. Tobacco is like a smooth, creamy cigarette after a long day of working in the yard. Ranger is like a tobacco cigarette with a hint of caramel while you’re sitting around with friends sipping on a nice wine. The grape and apple stood out as well and most of the others are really good for those jumping into e-cigs. I would recommend this kit just for the flavors.

Throat Hit

The throat hit is pretty good. It is not blazing heavy, but really lets you know it’s there. Since they are only 16mg nicotine levels, this is a pretty good feat. After a while, I hardly noticed any difference between these cartomizers and my others.

Vapor

The vapor production is really nice. With the low volts on the batteries it’s not a chimney stack of smoke, but you will not be disappointed.

Overall, I really like this kit. I had no idea if I was going to really get into this kit to be honest, I had no idea what to expect. But, to be fair, the refills are priced a little higher than their competition and some may not like they do not offer other colors for the batteries. But, looking past that, this is a solid entry-level kit into the world of e-cigs.

I have received and used Bull Smoke Ranch Hand Kit. I am very dissatisfied. Upon usage, I found fluid leakage from the “filters”. This fluid transfers to lips and interior of mouth causing a lasting burning sensation. I have contacted Bull Smoke and am awaiting a response for a refund.

Thanks for the information Hector, I’ll be sure to pass on your experience. I’m going to research this a bit more to see if their quality is diminishing or there is a string of bad production runs.

    Hector works for the competitor.
