South Beach Starter Kit
Deluxe Starter Kit
The South Beach New Deluxe Starter Kit is the new kid on the block of Electronic Cigarettes, well in terms of new kits that is.
South Beach revamped their line up with a Deluxe Super Max version that focuses on a new battery technology that is suppose
to change the industry. Do they dish out what they propose? Let’s take a stroll into the new South Beach world of technology and see if South Beach really surpasses the best of the best.
I received the Deluxe Starter Kit that comes with two, the High-Capacity battery that is 3..25 inches long and the Standard Battery that is 2.5 inches long, for purposes of this review. The kit costs $59.99 at the time of this review. Regardless if I purchased them or received them for my review, my
goal is simply to inform the readers so they can make the best choice to begin their ecig journey away from regular cigarettes, hopefully for good.
I like the overall website and starter kit design. The starter kit is the standard design as most others, cardboard, magnetic flap, two stack design. But, it is smaller than a lot of others, keeping it mineralized, which I prefer. No need to drown me in things that were meant to be thrown away at the end.
The website is very stylized. Everything is well laid out simply making each section easy to navigate. They don’t drown you in sales verbiage, which I like as well; Right to the point. Overall the design seems well thought out, which lets me know if they go this far for presentation, there’s a good chance they will do the same for their product.
For delivery goes, they over the full selection of USPS:
- Standard Shipping (5-7 days)
- Priority Shipping (3-5 days)
- 2-Day Express USA
- Overnight Express USA
They do not offer FedEx or UPS, which I always look for. Some people prefer to pay more for the FedEx or UPS over USPS. Also, their shipping prices are a little higher than their competitors, could be simply because of destination, I’m not sure, but definitely worth looking into.
The quality of the Deluxe starter kit shows a lot of time and effort was put into it. The battery is solid, no loose pieces rattling around. The battery felt compact, as if every available space in it was filled and condensed to do what it needed to do. The threading was smooth on every cartomizer. Each cartomizer had no leakage nor were any of them empty or felt lower than any of the others. The entire kit felt well made. I wish it came with a USB charger instead of just the wall charger.
The battery is a KR808D-2 threaded battery, the same as Green Smoke and Ever Smoke. This battery will not work with Green Smokes cartomizers, but will work with Ever Smokes.. It is 3.25 inches long, just as they say, and has a crystal LED light at the end that lights up when you vape; to be honest I rarely used the 2.5 inch battery, I actually started using it after I finished the review. I have the automatic battery, which is important as the automatic battery lasts about 25% longer than the manual battery, but you get better throat and vapor, in general, from manuals as opposed to automatics because you control how long the battery is “sending power” to the atomizer.
The 3.25 inch battery DOES last a really long time. Not two cartomizers long, but it out-lived one cartomizer completely and almost half a second, allowing me to use it the entire day. I kept vaping on it, thinking I miss calculated when I started, but no, I started it at the beginning of the day, each day and it vaped away, lasted past a cartomizer, which I replaced and kept vaping. I think I used it more than I normally vape, just see when the die out point was, but it just went past my normal work day. It feels like it’s a cartomizer and a half, which is great. Now, that’s me. If your the type of vaper that smokes more than two cartomizers a day, maybe this won’t last as long for you. I usually smoke about 1, to 1.5 cartomizers a day.
As a side note, I’ve been itching to get my hand on the White Cloud super kit, that costs about $400, or just shy of, but I think I don’t need to. Their claim-to-fame is a battery hat lasts 600 puffs. But, at less than 6 times the price I can get a battery that just about lasts as long, I’m just fine. Great job South Beach.
I was sent Menthol, which is just super for me. I’ve smoke Menthol about all of my 20 year smoking span, so it’s a flavor I really enjoy. South Beach presented a nice Menthol flavor. I really enjoyed it. I am going to do a side-by-side with the best of the best, which is Ever Smoke, and see which one wins out, they are very close. Menthol smokers will not be disappointed. This is not your run of the mill “super mint” remake, but a smooth blend of winter menthol with great throat hit.
Throat Hit :
The throat hit for South Beach is really good. It lets you feel it and doesn’t over do it. It’s a serious burn, but not so much your tearing up. A good throat hit is something I found is important to keep the mind away from regular cigarettes. With a good throat hit, your body is fooled from the day-to-day habit of regular cigarettes as the nicotine calms the actual craving the body looks for. This is one of the real reasons why e-cigs help to curb the cravings so much, it blends into the normal habit very well.
The vapor is just remarkable. One of the best in the market at this point for sure, for a propylene glycol blend. The South Beach will not disappoint in this category, without a doubt.
Over All :
Overall, I am very happy to had run across the kit at this time. With the new battery and the upcoming flavors, which I cannot wait to try; I am very impressed. Mainly for the battery. The battery shows me that a new technology wave is coming in longer lasting batteries. I don’t have to lug my ego battery around in public or tote a bunch of batteries and chargers around just to keep vaping. Now, for the perfect play, I want blank cartomizers and I’ll be a happy camper.
